Greetings!

I am so happy to welcome you as members of the Aggie Family. We are delighted to have your child as a student at Utah State University.

Joyce Albrecht, First Lady of Utah State University

I'm writing to alert you to a new Aggie Parents & Family website that will help answer questions about your child's education at Utah State University. We also invite you to sign up for our weekly University newsletter "Utah State Today" as well as a new "Aggie Update for Parents."

You'll find at www.usu.edu/parents information about the semester calendar, advising, tutoring, and our Graduation Guarantee Program. In addition, we'd like you to be aware of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) that protects your student's educational records.

We welcomed new students this fall by helping them move in. Yes, that was the president and other administrators wearing those Aggie Move-In Crew shirts! We treated them to Walking Tacos and Famous Aggie Ice Cream during the first week. As one parent said to me, "yes, there is a lot of socializing during the Week of Welcome, but then it's time to buckle down to study."

Stan and I have watched five of our children make the transition from home to college. It is an exhilarating time and yet a bittersweet experience as well. Please know that they are being welcomed into yet another family that cares about them-the Aggie Family.

Thank you for sharing your child with us,

Joyce L. Albrecht
First Lady of Utah State University
